GEON-Il KIM

Geon-Il Kim is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Physics at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on the development and application of climate emulators to assess the climate impacts of well-mixed greenhouse gases and short-lived climate forcers under carbon dioxide removal strategies. He is particularly interested in bridging Earth system modeling with policy-relevant frameworks, and in supporting integrated assessment models through reduced-complexity climate tools. He received his PhD in the Division of Environmental Science and Engineering from Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), where he specialized in climate dynamics.
